Aberdeen Art Gallery
The city's art gallery in the centre of Aberdeen, with collections of painting, sculpture and applied art.

Aberdeen makes a good full day from Carnoustie rather than a quick trip, and the train is the easiest way to go, with no parking to find at the other end.
The city centre is built of the silver-grey granite that gives Aberdeen its nickname. Aberdeen Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum are both in the centre, and the Maritime Museum looks out over the working harbour. A short walk away, the old fishing village of Footdee sits at the harbour mouth, beside the start of the city's long beach and promenade.
North of the centre, Old Aberdeen has cobbled streets, the historic buildings of the university and St Machar's Cathedral. To the south, Duthie Park and its winter gardens are a peaceful place to finish the day.
Opening times, admission charges and what is on all change, so check each attraction's own website before you set off.
